With just your name on my lips, and look...

—Description Quote

The sequel song to Yakimochi no Kotae and its counterpart, focusing on Sota Mochizuki and Akari Hayasaka hanging out together on Christmas Eve. It takes place just a little after the previous song's events.

SynopsisEdit

As we learn quickly, Sota still hasn't received an answer to his confession from the previous song. But despite this he's more jealous and possessive than ever, and continues to watch Akari from afar on his commute to school. His insecurities about Akari also resurface very quickly. He likens her to a heroine in a fictional story: practically untouchable and that he's unworthy of her.
When he thinks he's alone in an empty classroom, Sota tries saying Akari's full name out loud, which she catches by accident. He confesses to her again while he's spaced out, making her blush.
On Christmas Eve, Sota picks out a scarf he thinks Akari will like and searches for her throughout school and town. Thinking she might not come, and that his feelings are finally confirmed to be unrequited, he turns to leave just as Akari appears near the street and calls out to him. They exchange gifts (her gift turns out to be a scarf as well), put them on, and go out to hang together.
Overall the date makes them more comfortable around each other, learning about what they like and don't like, taking pictures together, and becoming more visibly enamored with one another. They also upgrade to using each other's first names.
The night ends with Sota passed out, as he begins to confess to Akari over text.

TriviaEdit

  • The visuals used in both this and Watashi ga Koi wo Shiru Hi are slightly modified versions[1] of the visuals used for the covers of Boku Ja Dame Desu Ka? ~Kokuhaku Jikkou Iinkai Character Song Collection~.
  • Characters from the PVs of HoneyWorks' other songs appear in the beginning of this song's PV; the main characters of "A Promise that Doesn't Need Words", the main couple from "Ai no Scenario", and one of the girls from "Ai no Chord" and "Sekai wa Koi ni Ochiteiru" all ride on the train with Sota.
  • The production of the PV can be traced back to early 2016, where one of the lines "dakara boku ja dame desu ka" is attributed to a drawing of Sota in a wintry setting.[2]
